Design for Cotswolds businesses.
We're on the edge of it, at Hatton in Warwickshire. Which matters, because the Cotswolds is a place where the standard of branding is already high and the risk of looking like everyone else is correspondingly higher.
Start a projectThe problem with looking Cotswolds
There's a house style here and you know it when you see it. Sage green, a hand-drawn wheat sheaf, a serif with slightly too much personality, and the word artisan. It isn't bad design. It's just that fifty other businesses within twenty miles have made the same decisions.
A brand that signals the region rather than the business is doing half a job. The point is to belong here without being interchangeable with the farm shop down the lane.
Premium hospitality, properly served
Boutique hotels, restaurants with rooms, holiday lets and the groups behind them. This is our core sector and the Cotswolds has an unusual concentration of it, much of it competing at a genuinely national level.
The brand has to carry a rate that's higher than the guest expected, and it has to do that before they have set foot in the building. That's a harder job than it looks and it's mostly done through photography and restraint.
Food, drink and makers
Producers who sell on quality and provenance, where the packaging is doing the arguing on a shelf next to competitors making the same claims. Distinctiveness beats decoration here, every time.
Close enough to turn up
From Hatton we can be anywhere in the northern Cotswolds inside about forty minutes, and most of the rest within an hour. In-person workshops are straightforward rather than an undertaking, which for brand work makes a real difference.
Common questions
- Where in the Cotswolds do you work?
- Across the whole area. We're based at Hatton in Warwickshire, just north of the region, so Chipping Campden, Broadway, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow are all within about forty minutes, and the southern Cotswolds within an hour.
- Do you work with hotels and restaurants?
- Yes, hospitality is one of our core sectors. Boutique hotels, restaurants with rooms, holiday lets and the groups behind them.
- Can you help us stand out without looking generic?
- That's usually the brief. The Cotswolds has a recognisable visual shorthand and leaning on it makes a business look like every other business here. We'd rather find something ownable that still belongs.
